Description: During winter, loggers used water barrels attached on sleds to spread water on the roads so that the sleds with their rudders would move more easily . An ice coating made the roads slippery which allowed the loaded sleds to be more easily pulled by the horses. In this picture, we see women surrounded by loggers.
