Description: Eight drivers handling peavies and pike poles guide logs on the Green River during "la grande drave". The drive season began when the water level in streams was high and it would last a fortnight. During two weeks, logs were thrown in the streams and floated down in the current. Drivers had to guide the logs and prevent pile-ups. All the wood cut during winter had to be moved before the swelling of the brooks or rivers diminished.
