Description: Retrieving wood from the Madawaska River in 1972. Wood at the bottom of the river was a source of pollution. For this reason, the environment laws required that Fraser companies clean the Madawaska River after they ended log drive practices in 1967. Boats were used to pile wood recuperated from the river bottom by the dredger.
