Description: Retrieving wood from the Madawaska River in 1972. Logs stuck at the bottom of the river were a source of pollution. For that reason, environment laws required that Fraser Companies clean the Madawaska River when the drive came to an end in 1967. A dredger retrieved logs from the bottom of the river and loaded them on a barge.
