Description: The Summit Depot is located along the Right Hand Branch Belone Brook, about four km from Third Lake. Here we see the storage facility of the Summit Depot camp in the Green River area in winter. It was at the Summit Depot from 1938 to 1975 that equipment, merchandise, and food were stored for later distribution to the camps of the region. The Summit Depot also served as the site where Quonset huts were manufactured. Those camps had a semicircular arching roof of corrugated metal.
