Description: Here is the new Plaster Rock sawmill under construction on September 27th, 1973. We notice the old sawmill at the bottom of the hill between the dam and the bridge. We see two kilns for drying wood: one at the bottom of the hill and another one in construction on the hill. Wooden boards would be dried there. The new sawmill located on the hill was almost completed. There, logs were debarked and cut into boards. We also notice the new storage shed where boards would be sorted by length and quality. The circular building located on the top right is the incinerator where waste (mostly bark) would be burned. We also notice two wood yards where boards would be stacked before being shipped by train.
