Description: Here is the installation of the new Plaster Rock Fraser sawmill, located on the hill, in 1973. In the first building, logs were debarked and cut into boards. The external boiler is located at the left of the main building. Hot water was used to wash logs and facilitate the debarking process inside the mill. At the end of the same building, we notice the storage building where boards were sorted according to length and quality. The new circular structure is the waste incinerator, where non-recyclable waste, mainly bark, was burned on location. The two buildings at the end are lumber drying kilns where boards were dried. We notice two wood yards: one on top of the hill and one below, near the Tobique River. Boards were stacked there before being shipped by train.
