Description: This Fraser Companies sawmill is located along the Tobique River in Plaster Rock. It was built in 1906. There, logs would be cut into boards as seen in the 1960s. At left is the sawmill building. We also see a smoke-stack indicating where bark was burned to produce steam energy. We see the lumber storage shed near the mill, where lumber was stored before being shipped by train. The white house on the right was the main employees office. On the hill we see the wood yard where lumber was stacked. Notice the bridge crossing the Tobique River.
