Description: Bird's-eye view of the new Plaster Rock Fraser sawmill located on the hill, on November 27th, 1973. The old sawmill is at the bottom of the hill between the river dam and the bridge. We see two lumber kilns where lumber is dried after being cut. The new sawmill on the hilltop is completed. There, logs are debarked and cut into boards. We also see the sorting shed at the end of the sawmill, where lumber is sorted by size and quality. The circular structure is the waste incinerator where waste products (mostly bark) are burned. We notice two lumber yards: one at the bottom and the other on top of the hill where lumber is stacked before being shipped by train.
