Description: Here is the Fraser sawmill in Kedgwick after 1977. The sawmill officially opened in 1970, but closed down in the early 1990s. Lumber was produced in sizes 2"x4" and 2"x6". Logs were debarked and cut inside the building on the right. The sorting section is at the end of the mill, where lumber was sorted by size and quality. There were three lumber kilns; the largest building is one of them. The others the smaller ones near the large lumber yard. Sawed timber was dried in the kiln buildings. The planer is located near the railroad, where wood was planed and made smooth and uniform. It was then sorted and loaded onto freight cars.
