Description: Doctor Paul Carmel Laporte (1885-1973) was the pioneer of visual arts in the Madawaska region. He was sculptor, painter and wood carver as well. He was a teacher to recognized artists such as Claude Picard, Albert Nadeau and Claude Roussel. He died in 1973.
