Description: Here is the new Plaster Rock sawmill under construction and photographed on September 7th, 1973. The roofed building lodged the machine that debarked and cut logs into boards. The non-covered section would become the sorting and storage room where wood was graded by size and quality . The circular construction on the left would house the incinerator used to burn waste (mainly bark) directly on location. The building already built would be the dryer where boards were treated after being sawed. We notice a wood yard where lumber is stacked before being shipped on trains.
