Description: Here is the new Plaster Rock Fraser sawmill installation located at the top of the hill, in 1973. We see two lumber kilns: one at the bottom and one on top of the hill , where once sawed, boards would be dried. The new sawmill on the left side of the hill was completed. Logs were debarked and sawed into boards in the main building. Then it was sorted by length and quality in the storage shed at the other end. The circular funnel-shaped building is the waste incinerator where unusable waste (mostly bark) was burned. We also notice the wood yard in the background where lumber is stacked before being shipped by train.
