Description: This Fraser Companies sawmill is located along the Tobique River in Plaster Rock. It was built in 1906 and produced wooden boards as seen here on August 11th, 1970. At the left, we see the sawmill building. We also see a smoke-stack indicating where bark was burned to produce steam energy. We can see the water tank used in case of fire. Near the mill, stood the storage shed where lumber was stacked before being shipped by train. On the hill in the background, is the lumber yard where boards were stacked.
