Description: Barkers at the Edmundston Fraser mill removed bark from 4-foot logs, in 1945. We see worker bending to release logs with a pickaroon. The long-spout faucets fed from the river water washed the logs. This wood was hauled-up on conveyors installed on the banks of the Madawaska River. Once barked, wood was transported inside the mill by conveyor or piled for winter.
