Description: In the bleach-making plant at the pulp and paperboard mills of Fraser Companies Limited, in Edmundston, N. B., Mr. Joseph Morel rips open a bag of hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide) and pours it into a water tank. Chlorine is passed through this tank to make calcium hypochlorite which is the bleaching solution used in the bleaching process of sulphite or sulphate pulps.
