Description : From 1955 onward, Fraser hired workers during winter to retrieve wood from the bottom of the Madawaska River. This allowed the cleaning of the river and the salvaging of wood caught in the river. Here we see a horse pulling a sled loaded with 4-foot logs on the Madawaska River. This wood has just been retrieved from the Madawaska River and is being transported to the Fraser mill in Edmundston.
