Description : This Fraser sawmill was located along the Tobique River in Plaster Rock. It was built in 1906. We see, on the left, the Sawmill where logs were cut into wooden boards, as seen here in 1955. The smoke-stack shows where waste and bark were burned to produce steam energy. Notice the water tank to be used in case of fire. The building at right was the storage shed where lumber was kept before being shipped by train.
