Description : This horse-drawn sleigh with pulpwood has just come from a nearby strip road in the Green River woodlands of northern New Brunswick managed by Fraser Companies Limited. In early autumn, men cropped trees and piled them along the strip roads. Now, in mid-winter, the harvest of pulpwood is brought to a frozen stream and piled along its banks. In the spring the logs will be floated down the waterways, hard on the heels of the melting ice, to the company's pulp and paperboard mill in Edmundston.
